Yikes! It’s half-way through the summer reading program and things are very busy here at the library. We circulated nearly 8000 items last month–a new June record. July was our busiest month last year, we’ll see if that holds true in 2010. We continue to get new books, movies, games and music in every month. Some of our most popular titles this summer are books from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series and Bone. The Twilight series continues to check out with many people re-reading them in anticipation of seeing Eclipse.
We’re in the middle of week 4, the prize this week is a rubber frog with exploding eyeballs. Last week’s prize was a water bomb. What will next week bring? You have to keep reading if you want to find out! Next week’s program is open to anyone, whether or not you are signed up for the summer reading program. Join us as we welcome Z Puppets Rosenschnoz, a fun puppet and performance troupe from Minneapolis. That program will be at 2pm on Wednesday, July 14th at the Annex Building.
Don’t forget, the summer program picnic is on Friday, July 23 at 11am at Kiwanis Park. If you’d like to bring a snack (chips, fruit, veggies, cookies) to share, please let us know! Did you know Mrs. Gilles had knee surgery in early June? She will be back at the end of August. In the meantime, Mrs. Gosdeck has been presenting Wednesday storytime for 3 year olds. Every Wednesday at 10:30am–stories and a craft for kids and their parents!
Stop by and say “hello.”
