Several times a year we offer FREE knitting workshops for beginning knitters. On Thursday, April 17, at 6pm, we will host a class on knitting “footies” in the round. If you already know how to knit, this is a perfect chance for you to learn a new way of knitting! If you have never picked up needles before, you can learn to knit from longtime knitters who have lots of experience to share. Sign up at the library, then pick up a materials slip that will tell you what you need to bring.
On Tuesday, March 11, at 6pm, the Kewaskum Public Library will host Shakespearean actor Ron Fry in a one-man show about the life and times of William Shakespeare. Dynamic interpretations of excerpts from some of Shakespeare’s most famous works are combined with a humorous look at life in Renaissance England. The program also includes plenty of opportunities for audience members to star alongside The Bard of Avon. Shakespeare is performed by a professional first-person actor who also happens to double as a stunt-man, college teacher, fire-eater, clown, improv-artist, and jouster. All ages and learning levels have the opportunity to take the stage, speak Shakespeare’s words and have a great time doing it. Ron Fry is the founding Artistic Director of Optimist Theatre in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was the Artistic Director for the Bristol Renaissance Faire for 19 years. “To Be!” has been enjoyed by more than 60,000 people since its debut in 1993.
