Dear Kewaskum Public Library user,
We are excited to announce that the Kewaskum Public Library, along with the other libraries in the Mid-Wisconsin System, will be merging with Eastern Shores Library System! Eastern Shores has 13 libraries in Ozaukee and Sheboygan counties , so this merger is wonderful news because we will be able to offer you 13 more libraries worth of material! It’s important to us at the Kewaskum Public Library that you, our patrons, are kept informed as to what this process entails.
The library will be open, but offline from December 8th-14th and will be closed December 15th and 16th (the reason we will be closed is so that staff can catch up with check-ins and delivery). Here is what you can expect during that offline period:
•We will be able to check materials out to you! During the offline period, we will need all patrons to bring in their library cards, because we will be unable to look for your accounts.
•We will be unable to check anything in (don’t worry – we will backdate all items when we check them in again).
•No one will be able to place holds (please consider placing any holds you would like for December in November) and are happy to work with you to be sure you can get materials in a timely manner.
• We will be unable to renew any item during offline time. Don’t worry – we will backdate ALL ITEMS when we are able to check them in again!
We will be sure to keep you updated as to what to expect with the impending merger. It’s a big change, but we’re confident that it will be a wonderful thing for everyone! More libraries means more materials for everyone! Please, do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
Kewaskum Public Library Director
