Program Mission Statement:
This year we are celebrating 125 great years as a community and the library is honoring this accomplishment by providing everyone in the community with a very special goal. Our goal this year is for all of our Summer Learning Program participants (kids, teens, adults) to read and log 125,000 minutes between Monday, June 15 and Saturday, August 15. The library will be keeping track of how many minutes are read throughout the community and interested participants can stop by to see how close Kewaskum is to reaching that goal. We encourage everyone in the community to sign up for this year’s Summer Learning Program and READ, READ, READ to help us reach our goal. We could not do it without all of you and appreciate your continued participation and support!
Summer Learning Program:
This summer there is a fun, new online way to signup and participate in the Summer Learning Program. Beanstack can be used from your computer or easily accessed on a phone or tablet through the user-friendly mobile app. We will have traditional paper logs at the library for readers without Internet access.
Participants earn reading badges for each hour read beginning on Monday, June 15. Participants who complete sixteen hours of reading between Monday, June 15-Saturday, August 15 will earn a coupon packet prize are eligible to enter a ticket into the grand prize drawing for each hour read.
Participants can earn additional badges for completing fun activities. These badges DO NOT earn additional grand prize drawing tickets but include many great ways to keep busy over the summer and contribute to your community. Activity badges are available to be earned throughout the summer.
This project was brought to you by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services grant LS-00-19-0050-19.
