The Kewaskum Public Library has reopened with reduced hours that will be updated as needed. Please look to our website, Facebook or call us for updates to our hours.
Based on the guidelines from the CDC, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and the Washington Ozaukee Health Department Blueprint for re-opening FAQ, we have taken protective measures to ensure the safety of library users and staff.
Here is our latest guidelines for resuming in-person services updated 6/26/2020.
Essential Public Services
Our initial focus will be on providing essential public services. This includes; browsing and check out of material, picking up holds and staff assisted placing of holds, using the internet including our catalog, and print services of printing, photocopying and scanning.
We are limiting occupancy of the building to 14 people including staff. Please do not use the library to congregate with friends or bring in your family at this time. We are asking you to limit your time in the library to 1 hour.
Masks & Social Distancing
All staff members are required to wear masks while working. We strongly encourage library users to wear masks while inside the building. We also ask that library users practice social distancing by staying six feet away from other people. Please stay home if you are not feeling well.
Staff will clean high touch surfaces frequently while we are open. This includes but is not limited to public computer hardware and areas, tables, chairs, desks, counters and bathrooms. The library has reduced hours to allow staff to clean sufficiently.
While Kewaskum Public Library is doing everything possible to keep the library building clean and sanitary, we cannot guarantee a germ-free environment. Entering and using the library will be at your own risk.
Computer / Internet Access
We have limited public computers available and you will need to request access from the staff member on duty. Your computer time will be limited to 1 hour per day.
You can use our WiFi on your own devices inside or outside the building. It is on 24/7 for outside use. You can print from your own device while connected to our network. Please ask a staff member for assistance if you have questions.
Returns / Due Dates
Items returned are quarantined for at least 72 hours and will not be removed from your account until the quarantine period is over. These items will be backdated so as not to receive unnecessary fines. Loan periods have been restored back to what they were prior to our closure in March. Indoor book returns are closed and we are not accepting returns at the circulation desk. Please use the outdoor book returns.
The Library is not accepting donations of books or other materials at this time. Please do not put donations in the book returns. Any donated materials found in the book returns shall be discarded.
All in-person library programs have been postponed until further notice. The Library will continue to offer virtual programming through our Facebook page. Our Summer Learning Program 125,000 Minutes Celebrating 125 Years of Stories runs until August 15. Check out all our Summer programming activities on these pages Children, Teen, Adult.
