The Kewaskum Public Library has resumed regular operating hours.

Based on the guidelines from the CDCWisconsin Economic Development Corporation and the Washington Ozaukee Health Department Blueprint for re-opening FAQ, we have taken protective measures to ensure the safety of library users and staff.

Here are our latest guidelines for updated 05/14/2021

Essential Public Services

Our initial focus will be on providing essential public services. This includes; browsing and check out of material, picking up holds and staff assisted placing of holds, using the internet including our catalog, and print services of printing, photocopying and scanning. We are also offering curbside pickup of holds if you prefer to remain in your vehicle. Call us at (262) 626-4312 to arrange for this.

Masks

Following the CDC guidelines from May 13, 2021 people that are fully vaccinated do not need to wear a mask while using the library. Please check this page on the CDC website for updated information. If you need information about obtaining a vaccine, please check the Washington Ozaukee County website.

Building Cleaning

Staff will clean high touch surfaces frequently while we are open. This includes but is not limited to public computer hardware and areas, tables, chairs, desks, counters and bathrooms.

While Kewaskum Public Library is doing everything possible to keep the library building clean and sanitary, we cannot guarantee a germ-free environment. Entering and using the library will be at your own risk.

Computer / Internet Access

We have four public computers and two catalog computers available for use. Your computer time will be limited to 2 hours per day.

You can use our WiFi on your own devices inside or outside the building. It is on 24/7 for outside use. You can print from your own device while connected to our network. Please ask a staff member for assistance if you have questions.

Returns / Due Dates

Returned items are no longer being quarantined. All items dropped off during regular hours will be checked in the same day. Items returned after hours will be checked in the next business day. If you are concerned about the lack of quarantine of library materials, please quarantine any materials checked out from the library prior to use.

Loan periods have been restored back to what they were prior to our closure in March, 2020. Items may be returned to the outside or inside book and media drops or to the circulation desk.

Donations

The Library is now accepting donations of books or other materials. Please refer to our Gift & Donation policy for acceptable items.

Library Programs

We are offering limited in-person programming for book clubs and other adult programs. Look for weekly outdoor programs for children during the summer months. Check our website, social media or newsletter for all our programs.
